Black Rock City Times

Our adventure took us across the border to a desert city
of 50 000 temporary inhabitants who used gifts as a currency,

acceptance as a universal language....
and art as a way to weave an invisible thread between each other....
oh and lots of bars.....this one serving much needed deliciously
cold margaritas in the mid-day heat....
Intricate structures appeared like mirages....
only to disappear soon after
leaving an imprint in the sand as the sole
proof of their existence
Our star pod filled camping area.....
All were gathered for a week under a layer of moondust

Art cars found a home....
and freaks found their family....
These freaks found
dancing buddies everywhere they gazed....

Art installations and bumping bass filled
the days and nights.....
Fractal Nation housed an art gallery of visionary works...
Bicycles were the preferred mode of trasportation....

The Barbie Death Camp ritually crucified

and hung barbies
They also served wine at their wine bar.....
Kelsey Fairy held a tutu pilgrimage on tutu tuesday.....

The Centre Cafe was a hub for social encounters
and circus arts.....
The sacred Temple was the ultimate symbol of the impermanence
of life and the inevitability of death.....
Nighttime Art cars at the Temple Burn....
Thousands gathered for the ending of the Temple's brief and
beautiful existence.....
All the sorrow and joy of life torched along with the
magnificence of the Temple's architectural splendour....
The end of the city for now....

Just like life begins and ends without asking us what we think
Yet another will come again one day
and the end is just an illusion like everything else....
